Motorola Droid Phone issues

I bought this fantastic new droid phone - It is by Motorola but I have had an issue twice and after thinking it has been about four times now.  First issue was when we got to San Francisco - no navigation - no internet... WHY ELSE WOULD I GET A PLAN FOR INTERNET if I could not get service - thing is, DD had her android - different model and she had internet and navigation.. Thank goodness.  So, on our way to Sacramento (using dd's navigation) Stopped in the easiest access to a Best Buy - They said I needed a system update - which they did for me - I had internet and navigation - SO, back on the road to Sacramento.
When we got back to San Francisco - again - no internet and no navigation.....GEEZE this is getting old already. BUT, I  continued on..
Next issue, sitting at home - needed to get a text to dd about a textbook issue - sent text - and watched the bars - go to 4 bars and drop to NO BARS - this is sitting still - not moving position. WHAT the H_-_?
Finally 1 hour later - my phone was functional again. Somewhat relieved but not happy.
THEN, final straw, run to Sam Moon's to check out purses - wanted to leave a message on my facebook page.  NO INTERNET, NO NAVIGATION..
   I ran by Best Buy again to ask the guys what gives, is it my phone, is it my service?  He was most helpful, but I am not very happy, he said he also has a Motorola and it happens to him also - he has a different service - he will be playing a game and all of a sudden - no signal - everything disappears and then starts again...
NOT HAPPY.. I am looking at a different phone - actually half the cost.. But, I want it to work... So, I am reading reviews and waiting for MONDAY to pass so people are in their offices - I want to get this resolved.....Any suggestions would be appreciated. Until after Labor Day.

After loading Picasa, I realized I can pull a photo off my computer - that is what I get for not reading.
AND then I lose the address to my blog. hahaha  So many things to do , so little time.
